Common questions

Are TBB products suitable for New Zealand’s power supply?

Yes. The products we sell in New Zealand output 230V AC at 50Hz, the same as a household socket here.

Can I install a TBB system myself?

Low-voltage DC parts of a system, such as solar controllers and DC-DC chargers, are often installed by experienced owners. Anything connected to 230V wiring must be installed or certified by a licensed electrician, and caravans and motorhomes with 230V wiring need a current electrical warrant of fitness. If in doubt, ask a licensed electrician or the store you’re buying from.

Which inverter charger is right for my campervan?

It depends on the appliances you want to run at the same time. Add up the wattage of the largest loads, such as an induction hob, microwave or kettle, and choose an inverter with headroom above that. The store you buy from can help you choose a size.

Do I need a DC-DC charger if I already have an isolator?

Usually, yes, if your vehicle has a smart alternator or you’re charging a lithium battery. In either case, a simple isolator can’t deliver the charging voltage the battery needs. A DC-DC charger gives a full charge whenever the engine runs.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Get in touch with the store you bought from, with your proof of purchase and a short description of the fault. They’ll arrange the assessment and repair or replacement.
